Long weekends are really hard. The delaware beaches are mostly the motels you mention and houses/condos, which rent week to week in high season, and udually saturday to saturday. You might have luck at vrbo.com, or else call local realtors - for bethany thats crowley, sandcastle and one more i cant think of - and see if any clients will rent for the long weekend. If you're willing to be flexible oncyour dates, i agree with pp - we like the condos at sea colony in bethany. There are a few that rent friday to friday, so maybe you could also just pay for the week and use less.

Why don't you rent a condo in Bethany? I've heard that's nice for families.

Hi, my family and I (2 kids, ages 6 and 7) have started looking at lodging for Memorial Day weekend at one of the DE beaches. We have never been to the area, and are looking at Lewes, Rehoboth and Bethany. The problem is that I literally cannot find an inn or bed and breakfast that will take kids (the one I found was in Cape May and it was over 300/night.) So, if you know the area, what is our best option? Should we just change destination? (I really don't want a non-descript motel on the beach, and while we usually rent a place, I don't want to do it for only 3 nights....)
