Any recommendation for dinner out on New Year's Eve for 4 adults in NW DC or Montgomery County that isn't a pre-set menu? I know this is last minute, but grandparents just decided to stay longer and suggested that they babysit the kids so we can go out with good friends (who also have grandparents who volunteered to keep the kids) for NYE. We don't usually do anything (or just do something mellow like have friends over for pizza), so this is unusual for us. A bunch of places that I have checked have pre-set menus that night, which don't interest us. (If I'm actually getting to go out to a nice meal without toddlers, I want to pick my food!) Since we almost always go out with the kids, I don't really know any more "grown up" places to suggest to our friends! (We eat at Cafe Deluxe, Uncle Julio's, Maggiano's, etc., a lot.) Any suggestions would be great! (Even if you don't know what they are doing on NYE... I'm happy to do a little research, but feel overwhelmed at the number of options without knowing what places have good food and are not particularly family friendly!)
