DH saw that DD was drinking my drink (she finished 3/4th of my small glass) and made a few comments about how it wasn't for her and to give it back to me. I didn't think anything of it. Just thought that maybe because she had already had a lot of fruit that morning, maybe he was concerned she was having too much fruit.
Today, DH jokingly says "oh well since its been 24 hours and she's fine, had no reaction, I'll tell you....the shake yesterday had alcohol in it." I was floored. Wtf?? Why didn't he just tell me? I would have stopped letting DD drink it. I asked him why he didn't just tell me that and he didn't have a good response, just that I had already let her have some of the drink.
Am I completely off base to be upset? I just don't understand. I feel like he was really irresponsible. Alcohol + small child = not a good idea. Wtf was he thinking?? I'm angry that instead of taking the 2 seconds to tell me it had alcohol, he let her drink it. And why withhold that info from me? I'm still nursing so I should know if I'm having alcohol!
Thought?
Anonymous wrote:OP, maybe DH was embarrassed about putting alcohol in the drink? He might be a grown man, but it might be that he is intentionally hiding his alcohol consumption from you by putting it in drinks like this rather than having a beer.

I wish it weren't. When he told me I was in disbelief. All I kept saying was why didn't you tell me? I mean, I'm not going to be mad that you added alcohol to your drink. You are a grown man. But now I am mad that you let our toddler have alcohol.

Strange story.
