Just searching for any more recent recommendations. Based on what I've read, I'm thinking of YNAB as well. Any other recommendations? Thanks!

I use a software called YNAB (You Need a Budget) to manage our finances. As the name suggests it's primarily a budgeting tool and is good for managing regular accounts (checking, savings, credit cards). I'm not sure about managing investments.

I've used it for years and it keeps getting better. They now have an app that can be linked to your budget, so you can see you balances on the go. You can also install copies on multiple computers so that both spouses can access it. I am the primary budget keeper, but with the new app DH now has instant access too. Using YNAB is the only way we've been able to survive on one income for the last five months.

I've used Quicken, Mint, Mvelopes and others and YNAB is the best.

I think it used to comes down to Quicken vs Microsoft Money, but now there are some free options like Mint.com, and probably a few others.

I tried Quicken around 2007/2008 for about a year, and it was really helpful after the year to see where all our money went. However, I would frequently run into issues that seemed like software bugs or things it wouldn't let me do, which kind of turned me off. I had a friend that loved it and I really wanted to love it, but it eventually became too much work and I discontinued using it after the first year.

I've actually been thinking of retrying Quicken again. I'm sure things have improved, so curious to hear other opinons.

Please recommend your software/apps etc. for managing bank accounts, investments, credit cards, etc. Need something that runs on a mac and runs smoothly.

Thanks!
