Yeah, pick one say to wear the princess dresses. Make a character meal reservation and if you want to splurge, go get their hair princessed at the boutique. Make it a thing and they won't make a big fuss on days you aren't wearing them.

Agree with pp's on most of the character dresses being worn at the Magic Kingdom but not the other parks. I was just there in October with my whole family, including a 4 year old niece. She had quite the assortment of princess dresses, and it was ridiculously hot and humid. She could not wear them the whole day because she was too hot in the polyester. I cannot imagine that those dresses are very comfortable!

I didn't see kids in them at the other parks but I did at the Magic Kingdom.

They all looked hot and uncomfortable. Of course a lot of the other kids looked hot too...

While there will be little girls wearing princess dresses everywhere you go, the only place that _everyone_ (or close to it) will be wearing them is if you do the Cinderella's castle character meal. We went when my kids were about your kids' ages (2.5 and 5.5) and we brought the dresses but they only wore them to the castle meal. They're not practical for walking around and going on rides.

Definitely bring the dresses you own. When we went, my daughter wanted to buy one there -- and they charge $75 and up. It's a total ripoff. We kept wishing we had the cheap ones from Target with us.

Very prevalent. If your daughters are into this, they will notice.

No need to bring your entire princess wardrobe and accessories. Just throw a dress in the bag and call it a day.

We're going for 8 days.

Will 2 dresses each cut it? Will they get totally gross and I should have a few more? Will they even wear regular clothing? We're going in January. It could be 50 degrees or colder. Do they wear coats over the dresses?

Bring you dresses! They don't take up much room and you can always pack a change of practical clothes, or they can wear practical clothes underneath. Let them have the full experience.

It is prevalent. You are going to DISNEY. And you are there presumably so heh children have a fun and memorable experience. Bring the dresses. Really, is it that hard to pack a couple?

How prevalent is this? Are my girls going to be disappointed if they don't wear them? To the Character meals? At the theme park?

Is seems completely ridiculous and impractical to me. But I would rather bring the dresses we own, than deal with temper tantrums or buy dresses there b/c they are the only girls ages 3 and 6 not wearing them.

Any other thoughts on this part of going to Disney? I'm generally very excited, but the idea of carrying these things around in addition to everything else seems ridiculous. Or that my girls will really wear them with all the walking involved...
