All sounds totally normal. Eventually he will tug or pull at it enough to separate when he's older. If it becomes a problem like infections or he's a teen and it still doesn't retract the dr. can give him a steroid cram that will speed things up. Retracting too early or forcibly can cause tears and adhesions that will be a problem.

So my husband is circumcised so we are not altogether sure how to care for our intact son. We're clear that we are not supposed to retract it until it does so on its own (he is three years old, so it doesn't yet). So--how will we know that it has begun to retract? And when it does, do we retract it and clean it at bath time (currently I just quickly run a washcloth over the whole area)? Also, I've noticed that when he urinates, it seems to collect in the foreskin and create a little bubble until he's finished. Is this ok? When the foreskin retracts, does he need to retract it to pee?

Sorry for the weird TMI questions. Just totally unfamiliar with this.
