Yeah, I would just ask about it to make sure it's not happening frequently. As pp inquired above, what if it gets broken? What if your child is the one that breaks it; then you're stuck in an awkward situation with another parent.

if the kid had their own tablet that was going to remain at daycare all day, I'd be annoyed with the daycare for allowing it, and would roll my eyes at parents who would give a child an expensive gadget like that.

If the kid was playing with the tablet for a few minutes while the parents were dropping him/her and siblings off, and you were getting annoyed enough to take it up with the care providers, I'd roll my eyes at you.

How do you know it wasn't the teacher's?

Our daycare has a no toy policy for a variety of reasons.

I am surprised that:
1. The parent thinks a 3 YO is responsible enough to keep this item safe. What will happen if it is broken / stolen (misplaced?)
2. The teachers did not step up and say that the item needs to stay w the parent - and if they need to watch it, they can do it outside.

I would let it go for today, but if it's there tomorrow, I'd talk to the director.

I would be annoyed and I would say something to the Director, as you are. I would also probably say something to the care providers in the room.

I wouldn't be pissed off but I would be annoyed.

If they were just watching it before breakfast (i.e., very limited time) and only for today, I'd let it go. Watch to see if it happens again. But yeah, who lets their 3 year old bring in a friggin iPad?

I would be very annoyed if it was an everyday thing. I wouldn't even be slightly annoyed if it happened once.

In my house, the TV is on a lot, so I'm also not "one of those parents," OP. But I'd be annoyed if kids at my daycare were sitting around watching something on some parent's Ipad. Who knows what else they can access that way? When I dropped off my 3yo this morning, he ran into school and happily plonked himself down to listen to a teacher who was reading a story. I'm not anti-TV as I said, but I'm also not paying someone to park my kid in front of another parent's electronic device.

I would let it go, presumably it would only be in the classroom for a short time. However, I agree that it's crazy to leave an ipad with a bunch of toddlers. If my child damaged the ipad I would feel no responsibility to compensate the other parent.

The center wasn't providing TV and the parent would take the tablet with them after drop off anyway.

My daughter is in the 2.5-3 year old classroom. This morning at drop off, I noticed that 3 kids were huddled around the table when I dropped her off. It seems that one of the parents had let their child bring her tablet into the classroom and they were watching TV on it. My daycare has a no TV policy and I was really bothered by it. We do watch TV at home, so it's not that I'm some "no TV" type of mother, but I pay $350 a week for her NOT to be watching TV.

This is a daycare center, so I plan to talk to the Director at pick up and see if there is a policy about this (also, what type of parent leaves their Ipad with their 3 year old in a daycare?)

Ok, should I be annoyed? Or should I let it go?
