Most are 7 am? Can you name even one morning preschool (not daycare) in the DC metro area that starts at 7 am??? All the ones we looked at didn't start until 8:30 or 9. The one we chose actually starts at 9:15, but with carpool I don't get out of there until 9:20. Perhaps some of them might have some type of extended day care to start early but that is definitely NOT the norm. Where do people get this shit from??

Our daycare has an accredited preschool program for the "older" (toddler) rooms.

Keep the kid home- preschool is overrated. Find another nanny, transition and then do preschool. No need to stress out.

you need a closer preschool or teach nanny to drive. or use a bus.

This is why morning preschool unfortunately does not work for a lot of working parents. There are no magic solutions. People either do full-time daycare, find a nanny who drives, run out during lunch to drive the kid home, or simply choose a school that is more convenient. None of these things are perfect, but it is what it is.

+1. Give her an awesome recommendation and help finding a new family, and find a nanny that meets your current needs. It may be a pain, but better than 3 years of transportation woes.

Yeah, I have to agree, this is something that should be one of the nanny's responsibilities. If nanny can't drive, she needs to fulfill it by figuring out public transportation, or you need a new nanny.

pick a school that is walkable from your house or get a new nanny. It is not the school's responsibility or other parents to figure out your driving issue.

I'm planning to send my kid for 3 hours a morning montessori. Both me and my husband leave early in the AM, and we have a live-in nanny who does not drive. The school is about 5 miles from home.
I spoke to the school administrator, but nobody else seems to be living close to us. Might work out something with other parents eventually, but apart from hiring a cab 5 days a week (which would add to our already considerable expenses of a nanny plus school), can you think of other solutions for transportation?
