They aren't synthetic fatty acids. They are real, natural fatty acids extracted from algae using a solvent called hexane. The company that makes it is a Maryland company, and they test every single batch for hexane contamination before shipping to other companies who use it as an additive in foods. It provides DHA and AHA supplementation without the nasty fish taste.

They are still used in organic foods, but I don't know the mechanism for that. I assume the company won its petition.

I found this article but it's dated 2010?? I think that DHA and ARA and those synthetic fatty acids are still in Earth's Best, arent' they??

I am confused. Can someone clarify?
