Great Falls is awesome.
Meadowlark another great idea.
Ice skating in Reston.
Hiking on the CCT Trail.
Spring Hill Rec, for really anything athletic.

There's the Clay Cafe in Falls Church to paint pottery, although there is lag time while they fire it so you would need to be able to come back in a week to pick it up

There's the Reston area up the toll road which has both an indoor and outdoor ice skating rink

Agreed. Besides the malls, this is Tysons. Maybe you'll only need to sit in traffic as you cross the street from on parking lot to another, since there's really no good way to walk between strip and non-strip malls (and office parks).

What fun things are there to do in Tysons Corner area for a 7 and 8 year old? Other than the mall that is for the weekend or winter break.

Not familiar with the area, but if Vienna and/or McLean are close and folks have suggested places to go there, please post. Thanks.
