I generally just do the group gift, but this year we have a teacher who's gone out of her way to give a little extra, so I'm getting that teacher something additional.

This particular year I am. Here's why:

1. DD really likes her teacher.
2. I really like DD's teacher, both as a teacher and as a person.
3. DD will have the same teacher next year.

I'm getting the teacher a $15 or $20 Starbucks gift card and DD is writing a note thanking the teacher and wishing her a nice summer and shit like that.

I never do the group gift. So either just a personal gift or nothing.

If I didn't like a teacher, I would have no qualms about not giving an individual gift. Why would your dd suffer for not giving a gift?

Not for the end of the year gift. She is not going to having this teacher again.

How awful that you think your DD will suffer if you don't give a gift. I would hate to feel that way.

In the past, I always gave the teacher a gift card. This year, the room parent decided to pool contribution to get a class gift.

I really am not fond of this teacher to begin with. The idea of double gifting her just bugs me.

On the other hand, I don't want dd to suffer. I know I know, teachers don't care about gifts. I think this one probably cares though.
