Soup, salad dressing, simple sauces that I used to use a food processor for. Are they dishwasher safe (the blender part, not the motor, obviously)

Why? I run it briefly in water and put the blade assembly through the dishwasher. Never a problem.

Soup in the pot. Honestly can't imagine any other use for it.

All of the above, plus whipped cream, and big batches of omelettes.

Soup. We eat a lot of soup. I adore it. I used to have to puree everything in a blender, in batches. The stick does it in seconds and there is much less cleanup.

Basically, what PP said. Also here are a few more ideas:

Just remember that it is an "immersion" blender. If you pull it out of a sauce while it's still on--yes it will splatter.

I love mine!! I use it when I make gazpacho, broccoli-cheese soup, and sweet potato soup. I've also used it to crush up tomatoes for pasta sauces, once the tomatoes have gotten mushy. They are also great for making gravy.

I posted on the other thread that I just bought one. What do you use yours for? I know I have recipes that require one (and I will find them) but in the meantime I thought I'd ask for ideas. TIA.
