I draw the line at makeup. Neither my boy nor girl gets to wear it. I gave them an empty blush compact and old brush to play with but won't allow any real makeup. But the limit isn't gender based, just my own personal limit.

Its not a big deal. He just wants the same as you and his sisters.

The color also doesn't matter.

DS was curious and wanted his painted, so I painted his big toenail pink. The curiosity went away and he hasn't asked again. He was 4 at the time. When he was 2 he carried around a diaper changing mat as his "purse" and used things as "necklaces" and used markers as "lipstick". They role play what they see, its not uncommon for little boys to want to wear dresses. They don't know gender stereotypes.

My son was 7 the last time he wanted his nails painted. We used blue, green and black.

Piggy Paint is the best. My 2 yr old had pink toes and purple fingers at one point. My husband hated it, but not a big deal.

Over thinking this one! So NOT a big deal. He is 2 and it is fun!!!

Of course you should let him! My 5yo went through a phase like this, no biggie. He did wear toenail polish to camp on day and got teased, so he asked if he could paint in the evening and remove in the morning. He also plays dress up with his 3yo sister, just like she plays cars, trucks, and superheroes with him. I think it's one of the best things about having kids of both genders, they get exposed to everything.

My 6 year old went through a phase of this the past summer at the pool. We got him black, orange, blue $.99 nail polish and he loved it. No one thought anything of it. He's over it now.

One time my daughter was painting my nails. After she was done, she asked to paint daddy's. He let her. Then he went to bed. Went to work the next day with a lovely set of red nails

He was gently teased at work, a little embarrassed, and ended up with a fun story to share.

Totally no big deal. If it makes you more comfortable pick out a few colors that you think are more boyish (what ever that means these days). I also have b/g twins and my son went through a fingernail painting stage around the same age that lasted about a year. No one cared, he thought it was fun and liked it way more than my daughter. Did red, white and blue for the 4th, green and black for Halloween. Way more style then his sister and the rest of us combined.

Ask yourself why you care because this is likely not the last time he will do something to alter his appearance. Think green hair, tattoos, piercings.

I don't understand the question. Does your son have some sort of foot ailment?

My ds loved getting his toes done when he was little. We used a glow in the dark or under a black light. He started getting pedicures at 2 yrs old.

Question do you let your daughters wear pants? Play with trucks?

I have two-year-old twins (b/g) and a 9-year-old DD. My oldest was painting my 2-year-old daughters toenails and my son wa Ted his done too, I told him no and he got very upset. I went ahead and allowed it. It removed it the next morning. Now he wants his to stay painted like his sisters, should I allow this? Maybe pick out blue or orange for him?
