Hi OP, I had the same question. The girls say it is awkward and sad to leave their friends. They are aware blending into Churchill with the Hoover kids who have been together the whole time will be an adjustment. What I have noticed it there isn't as much middle school drama at CJMS. I wonder if it is because they know they are only going to go to school together for a limited amount of time. My DC loves CJMS which has an enrollment capacity of around 85% and is a gorgeous brand new building.

This is true. CJ is a split articulation school and students come in from different elementary schools as well.

The size of each class at both Wootton and Churchill is too big to be serviced by just one middle school, but not large enough for each to be serviced by two middle schools. Wootton has over 600 in a class, and Churchill is around 550. CJ is therefore a split articulation school. About half the CJ kids go to Wootton, and half go to Churchill

Cabin John is the middle school. I believe the kids from Cold Spring go to Cabin John and then Wooten. Don't the kids from the other elementary schools that feed into Cabin John go to Churchill?

Why are some of the students at Cabin John HS slated to Wooton HS and other go to Churchill?

I thought Cabin John mainly goes to Churchill HS. Any insight into this issue?
Is is weird for your kids to go to different HS after being together in MS?
