OP here.
The grocery store bread just doesn't taste fresh like at subway. Do I need to start baking my own?

Italian loaves from Balduccis or Harris Teeter. The Marinos (I think - green and red on the package) sub rolls are decent in a pinch.

I like to make my own French bread. The grocery store tends to sell some good varieties of rolls too.

We get one of those large loaves of bread at the bakery or Safeway and divide it in half. There are so many great choices of types of breads that way. And, if you look for sales, you can find some great deasls.

What brand of bread do you use?
