That being said, I have a question for you: why is Jewish deli food so delish?

This area has a lot of Jewish people, but its still a very small, special population. I still see posts from people stating that they haven't known Jewish people. Figured that with the season, maybe others would have questions. As to your question, it probably has to do with the kosher factor as well as the age old recipes. I agree. And also don't think we have a really good deli in the area.

You're still going to get a lot of "So" responses, like the poster above. I posted an "ask me anything" that I thought was interesting, and got a lot of those (along with a lot of questions from people who actually were intrigued).

Anyway, there's a new Jewish deli on Conn Ave between Dupont and Farragut North. Haven't been yet but looks yum. Here's a link:

Yes! Saw this. Definitely want to try it. Even my father heard about the opening from 1500 miles away. Fingers crossed.

Dunno, didn't see it. If we did, then I presume those who will ask questions didn't see it either.

What's with the Jewish calendar? I've read it was created several thousand years after its first date, by working backwards from stories in the Talmud or some such. And it's crazy complex, an ongoing learning tool perhaps?

Didn't we already have a Jewish ask me anything thread?

What the hell is in that stuff? I have never tasted tastier bread in my life!

You've been missing out. It's egg bread. Don't know if you had challah made by someone personally or purchased from a store but its great either way. Try it warm or toasted with butter or jelly.

I don't judge you. I'd probably find a lot of things in common with you.

As am I, and as are half the people I know in DC. Another fail thread.

Curious to see what questions you may have.
