If you login, you will have a username. You can login to read, then logout (or restart your browser) in order to post anonymously.

If you login, you will be able to bookmark threads using the forum's bookmark facility. If you don't login, you will have to set bookmarks in your browser.

Oh I thought users could use it kind of like a bookmark for a topic they want to follow or go back to after a while
Sometimes I can't find a thread that I was interested in after a day or so, even using the search. Esp if I can't remember how the topic was worded, and if it's in gp or off topic it can get buried after a day or so

I am not sure that I understand your question. A sticky topic is a topic that always stays at the top of the list of topics. However, only administrators can make topics sticky. So, it is not clear how that can help you navigate the site. Can you better explain what you were hoping to accomplish? Maybe there is a better way of doing it.

Can you explain? Sorry, I checked FAQ, I'm on here all the time and I'm thinking it would make navigating the site easier
Thanks!
