Eh, I don't see what's so wrong with this. She fell in love with someone else, and aside from the new guy being her ex's friend, what did she do wrong? You said over time she got to know one of his buddies. Sounds like enough time to let her then bf know she's leaving.

I might have used a bad choice of words...like I said, he was in a coma for only a few days---it's not like it was a period of months or years.

Two people in my department (both married to others) were recently fired for having an affair and doing things on company time. I feel so bad for their spouses. I can't imagine they told their spouses the truth about why they were let go.

An acquiantance of mine from out-of-town claimed to have been 'friends' with this married guy she'd met at a conference. They started communicating via email, sms, Skype, and such. Not only was the guy married, he was also very much publicly 'in love' with his wife (posted sappy status updates and pictures of their vacations all over Facebook). When the acquaintance comes to town, she's introduced to the wife as a dear colleague, they all go out together and friend each other on Facebook.

The guy keeps traveling for work and, eventually, starts sleeping with the other woman promising her he'll leave the wife for her. In the meantime, the wife gets pregnant and has a baby (I know, it does sound like a bad Lifetime movie!) The other woman still thinks she'll get the guy, but, then the wife snoops through his emails, finds out about the affair, and calls the other woman in the middle of the night, screaming that she'd never let her husband get a divorce. The other woman tries to contact the guy to talk things over but he blocks her calls and never talks to her again.

In the meantime, the wife keeps posting "I love you, sweetums!" messages on Facebook for everyone to see and religiously updates her blog about her perfect family, complete with pictures. Marital bliss at its finest.

I'm no longer in touch with any of those people. It'd be funny if it weren't so sad.

I know of a woman (a mom of young children) who has had multiple affairs.

My brother's now ex wife was having an affair for about three years with a man she worked with (who apparently had two kids with his wife during that time period). They'd had the couple I've over for dinner and BBQs several times. It sucks. The affair came to light after my brother got divorced. Up until that point I'd maintained contact with former SIL, but that ended once I got the news - just too painful.

The dad is a prominent business man and the mom is the "perfect" SAH wife of an attorney (currently separated). Sad thing is, the man and his wife just had their third baby. I don't think she knows yet, or perhaps she is just dealing. Everyone else knows. My sister just told me that her husband's sister is cheating on her husband in a pretty scandalous way. I see these people rarely, but I really wish I didn't know this about them!

My friend just found out a month ago that her boyfriend was cheating on her with his best friend. For a year. I didn't know, but tons of other people knew and nobody told her.

I was thinking about a situation I was in a few years ago. DH has been friends with this person for years, and we had also become close with his wife. She had an affair with their nanny's son. For real. It was really hard on us, even, as friends, because it was just so damn awkward to try to move on and see her in a normal way again.

Has anyone else experienced something scandalous like this in your circle of friends? Were you able to salvage your friendship with both parties?
