DO NOT TRY TO COMB IT OUT! you will damage your hair, shower (wash & condition) and then brush out while wet.

you don't brush wet hair. you should comb it with a wide tooth comb.

I do this. My head is flat and I look almost bald when it's all pulled back.

I like the look. Wish I could get my hair to do that. I think a lot of teasing and hair spray is used. BTW I think that is a fake pony tail she is wearing. The coloring isn't right (all the same color) and it hangs like extensions. What many celebrities do is tease the top, then pull the short hair back and rubber band the short pony tail in place. Then the fake pony tail, which comes flat but sewn at the top with one piece of very narrow cloth, is wrapped around the short, natural pony tail and tied and knotted. Then either a fake pony tail hair wrap is used. (you can purchase these in all shades) , or the stylist. T picks up a quarter inch wide section of real hair and wraps it over the fabric from which the pony tail falls to cover up the wrapped very narrow cloth from whence the extensions hang. Maybe more than you want to take on. But by setting the short hair first and teasing it, you can easily add on a faux pony tail and since that tail is ot connected to your hair on top, it won't pull down the teased crown

We just got back from Disney, saw tons of these. Now I suddenly feel I see them everywhere. Even moms in sweats dropping off kids in the morning are sporting a casual but teased ponytail. Is it hard to do? Do you do it or do you see it around a lot?
