It only took us one hour. Didn't seem that tough but there were some tight spaces to screw in the hinges.

It took my husband and his dad about 3-4 hours. We did it the 23rd in case a crucial piece was missing or something. There are a TON of pieces. A TON.

We got it for our 2 year old daughter and still love it 4 years and another kid later.

It took me about 3 hours by myself (DH is zero help with assembly projects). There were a LOT of pieces, but once I got in the groove, it went by pretty quickly. Also, this was at about 3 a.m. - I think if I had been rested, it would have gone faster. Looks awesome assembled and my 2-YO DD l o v e s it. GL!

I'm really good at building furniture. I'm very visual spatial. I love doing it actually. It took me a little over 2 hours Christmas eve night. It was mildly frustrating, and I rarely get frustrated. And, it was the kidcraft silver retro kitchen. It's a smaller version. We love the kitchen.

Took DH and I 2+ hours working shockingly well together. We are both moderately handy, but not major DIYers or anything at all.

I put it together in the wee hours so it would be a morning birthday surprise, and it took me almost three hours. DH slept through the whole thing, but it might well have taken longer if he had been involved!

If you have a place you can assemble it and hide it, like a garage, you might want to try doing that in advance instead of dealing with it the night before.

I have a kidkraft kitchen-- not the retro but the uptown. Warning...it took a long time. I read all the amazon reviews and it seemed to range from 2 hours to 8 hours. It took us 6 hours...4 hours after bedtime and we still couldn't finish. We stopped at a point where DS could play with it and the forced ourselves to finish it a few weeks later (still took another 2 hours!)

And DH is an experienced IKEA assembler. He thought this was much worse than Ikea.

Can anyone give me a ballpark est on how long it will take to put this together? I'm pretty handy putting things together, I just want to be prepared for how long it's going to take me on Christmas eve. Not really sure where I could hide it I I did it sooner than that. TIA
