I would just leave it. The apples will look dried out at first -- eventually they should soften up. My main concern would be if they start to burn on the edges. Try to put it on the bottom shelf under something else so it doesn't get direct heat from the top element.
This is one of our family favorite dishes.

I'm making the dish I make every year, sweet potatoes, apples, OJ, brown sugar, nutmeg and I ran out of baking foil so i just stuck it in the oven uncovered (clearly not teh best cook). I just peeked in and the apples look all dried out. Should I take it out and stir or baste or cover with the lid from a pot?
