Turkey should rest 30-60 minutes depending on size. I plan to use this time to stick everything else in the oven to bake.

I think I will do this- I'm a novice Turkey Day preparer - how long is normal for the turkey to rest?

see if you can get your hands on America's Test Kitchen Slow Cooker Revolution. They address this or a similar problem.
