There is a excellent group that does this in Fairfax called Ability Potentials. They do assessments and career counseling. Not cheap, but worth it. They have been doing it at least since 1992 (when my mom took me there; I was a senior in HS). However, they mostly work with adults who are shifting careers.

I have a lot of business experience and a masters- this last job just really soured me on my particular work. I am wondering if there are any sources that help you assess your strengths, interest AND experience and then recommend different options. I tried one online that seemed to be on target but then the top recommended profession was engineer (nothing like my background). I'd go back to school for maybe paralegal (unsure of family friendly), education, career counselor, hr? (unsure which is a growing field).
