8 times out of 10 for our pointer mix. He's a good boy, mostly!

Lab that is DH's dog comes 100% for him, 10% for me.
Mix that is my dog comes 100% for me, 25% for him.
The dogs "chose" us, not sure why it worked out that way.

It all depends on my tone of voice -- just like with my kids.

Eighty percent of the time he'll come trotting over at the sound of his name, but if he's smelling an interesting tree or chasing a squirrel, I need to drop my voice three octaves and bark out his name with a guttural grunt to get him to listen. 99.9% of the time that works, even mid-run to meet another dog.

Early on, we did a lot of training and he was really responsive. I've become more lax in the eight years since, and he knows it. He's obedient enough though, so for the time being I'm focusing my energies on getting my three year old to listen instead...

100% of the time after she turned 2 year old.

I used this book to train her.

Shwon ever needed to be on a leash and she never ran away, approached other dogs, approached people, ran after dogs/cars/kids, never begged, etc.

We lived in a no leash law community.

Mine knows his name, sit, stay, and jump up. Wish I could teach him a few more (like "drop it" and "go") but those first few are good to keep him under control about 75% of the time. If he is super excited, he doesn't obey at all.

Our chihuahua- outside 10 out of 10 immediately he's super smart and very obedient. Chi/ jack Russell mix- probably 4 out of 10 times he's not so quick though. Pit/ lab mix- I'd say 9 out of 10 he's a good dog and super friendly but dumb as rocks.

How many times out of ten do my pugs come when I call?

Zero. They don't give a shit what I want.

Pretty immediate with my lab. He's quite attentive even off leash in the woods. Now my old beagle was another story. No walks off leash. If she got out she would wander around sniffing things. So I think it depends on the breed.

She'll come 10 out of 10 times, unless she's sleeping. But she can suss out when I'm calling her vs. saying her name to her. So if I just say "Right, Blossom?!" she'll just pick her head up and look up at me.

It's an immediate response.

Not very. She'll come @ 50% of the time. She does not care about treats. Sh'e the type of dog that would streak right into traffic.

Give me an idea of how many times out of ten your dog comes when you call.

Is it an immediate response? A military snap-to? Or a mosey over in my own sweet time?
