Have a big bowl of fruit. Good for people to have something light, healthy, with some fiber, before the afternoon carb-and-fat blast.

I also like the cold cuts idea. Maybe with some small bread like a baguette sliced into rounds, or little biscuits or lunch rolls. Not regular bread and fixings--people aren't going to want Dagwood sandwiches. Smaller scale, with little bowls of mayo and spicy mustard, for light noshing.

I usually just do a platter of cheese and crackers, vegetables, some kind of dip (usually hummus).

Cheese and crackers, chips and dip, pretzels and hummus, and other snacks/appetizers. You could roll up some lunchmeat and cheese as well.

I'm making some spiced pecans to set out.

We just do simple sandwiches that day. Put out bread, ham, cheese, condiments, LTO. People make their own as they get hungry. Put some veggies & chips or pretzels w/ hummus on the table. We also usually have some nuts knocking around and that kind of thing.

I would do some type of easy platter of stuff, that everyone can pick at.
Hummus, tzaziki (sp?), veggie sticks, pitas, maybe some tabbouleh. Add stuffed grape leaves, olives, cubed feta, etc to bulk up if needed.
cheese, crackers, sausage, grapes

super easy (you don't need MORE prep), can stand out for several hours, easy to shove back in the fridge when you're done.

Having 4 guests stay over from Wed - Thur, so we will have a "light" (fruit, yogurt, etc) breakfast early before we start preparing for the Thanksgiving meal which will be served about 4pm. An additonal 5 people will be coming by later that day. What type of snack/appetizer food should I have out for people to snack on around lunch time before we sit down to eat? Don't want people to get "full", but folks will need to have something light to eat before dinner.

Thanks.
