She released a single last year, Today is Your Day.

Maybe because she is older (the entertainment biz is very youth centered), has already achieved success when she was younger and has other things (family) she is involved with.

I have thought the same thing as PP, that perhaps Mutt Lange was such a large part of her success that she won't be able to have a great album without him (or maybe that's her fear). She did release a new single in 2011, apparently, but I never heard much about it.

Yes, she's starting in Vegas soon, but no word of any album even in the works. I'm wondering if her divorce from her husband meant that he no longer helps produce her songs. And maybe he was responsible for most of her success. Without him, maybe she can't produce the same songs?
That would be sad...

She did do a duet ("Endless Love") with Lionel Ritchie earlier this year on his CD.

She starts a 2 yr Vegas contract this December.

I think given how hard she has worked all her life and then the affair/divorce, then remarriage - she just needed a break.

She was on Oprah a little while ago (or maybe Oprah's new show) and said the whole break-up and cheating thing with Mutt left her panicked and stressed, with stressed vocal chords. She literrly couldn't sing.
So even if she is singing again, my guess is she needs time to make a record.

Isn't she performing in Vegas?

Since her divorce from her cheating husband-producer, Mutt Lange, she has not produced any albums. Anyone know why?
