Replacement screens are expensive in Bethesda! I just got one replaced on an iTouch at Landmark Mall for $40. Forgot the name of the store, but it's on the lower level.

You can buy a kit from amazon for less than $30 and replace it yourself. there are videos that show how do replace it on youtube. I am thinking about doing this for DS's Iphone4, it doesn't look too hard.

My husband did that, took it to the apple store and they gave him a new one for free. It was less than a week after he got it. Some friends had them do it for 199, not making them pay the out of contract price. Worth a try.

Your phone may be covered under a purchase protection plan if you bought it with an AMEX. I have the gold card, but I think all AMEXs have purchase protection.

I did not buy the warranty. Never needed it before. I did use Amex I think, so maybe they can help....

Did you use Amex to buy it? They have buyer protection that can handle accidents. Give them a call.

There are several online businesses that will replace broken glass for reasonable cost -- I think something like $70. I used Milliamp.com to replace the battery in an iPod Touch, and they were really helpful and responsive. The only bad part was that it took about 10 days of turn-around time for all the shipping.

They will replace it for you at a cost. I dropped my HTC phone, had the protection plan, and still paid $150 for the new one (retail cost was something like $450).

The Radioshack in Bethesda has a sign on the door saying they will replace the glass for like $60 I think.

I think there's also some mobile service, where the guy will come to your house and do it, but I don't remember what it's called.

Gotta love that my new iphone 5 that i've upgraded from blackberry has just broken, 3 days after getting it. I was planning to order a case but hadn't gotten it yet. ARGH!!! I know this is totally my fault but still, NOT what I need right now!

any suggestions for getting it fixed, in the Bethesda area?
