The Nields put out a kids' disc.

We play the toddler station on Pandora around the house. It's a good way to try out some kid singers and see whose style you (and your kids) like.

I second Elizabeth Mitchell. My kids are big fans of the second Dave Matthews CD -- Under the Table and Dreaming.

Dog Train -- it's actually a Sandra Boynton book that comes with a CD. She wrote the songs and they are sung by varius artists. My kids love it and the music is completely tolerable.

On a less tolerable side, but my kids like, the Little People CDs and Juno's Rhythm Adventures, or something like that. While the singing on the Juno CD is somewhat annoying, the second half of the CD is all instrumental and the music is good.

9:40 here -- and he is a singer-songwriter on many of the songs, others are folk/traditional influenced.

Chris Molla -- was in an 80s alternative band I loved (Camper Van Beethoven) and does awesome kids CDs with a variety of musical genres. Both my kids love them.

We enjoy The Doodlebops. I can sing along to all the songs if I wanted to and have even "accidentally" listened to a song w/o the kids in the car.

Caspar Babypants. Former rock star turned kid music writer. He was lead in "presidents of the united states of America". (big hit was peaches). Very cute lyrics. Gives free concerts to kids in and around Seattle.

Any of the Putumayo Kids or regular CDs are great for World Music. I love Hawaiian Playground, Jazz Playground and African Playground, but there are so many good ones to choose from.

Any suggestions for good, kid-friendly music in the car? Anything with easy singable lyrics, upbeat and fun -- doesn't have to be "kid" music per se, but maybe something folksy, singer-songwriter type would be good. Thanks!
