I wondered about the sandbags, too.

SPOILER MORE OR LESS
I do think Sunday's episode was the last, ending as Pritchard walked down the street as the air raid sirens were going off. Not a good series finale (especially one whose provenance was nearly 40 years ago), but I think the writers and actors basically ran out of steam.

Now that both this and Call the Midwife are over, Sunday nights are looking bleak till Downton. PBS does have a new Ken Burns documentary this Sunday on the Dust Bowl. I saw a preview at a special event featuring Burns, and it's very well crafted, as are all his documentaries.

Oh, I love the show. My husband and I watch it every week after Boardwalk Empire. I hope last night's is not the end of this series. Saw the Percy you know what coming a mile away but assumed it would involve the gun not the clever circus trick over the railing. I think 22:38 is correct about nylons - I had commented on same to husband. There were some other factual errors - I have never read about the elites and the commoners wearing short shorts and doing dancing exercises in the outdoors between the wars - but all in all good fun. Downton is better, but I still enjoy Upstairs/downstairs immensely. BTW, why would the townhouse mansions have sandbags in front of the gates and trellis work? My husband has lived in one of those and he didn't know either.

too much fantasy. The stockings only became available after the war. Scriptwriters got bored and descided to add this sleeping with the sil and spying. Too stupid. They spoiled a good show

15:13; I was slow to warm up to this season but it built pretty quickly and in the last 2 episodes there was, I think, a lot going on. Well worth watching.

Was the last episode last night? I have it on my DVR. I really like it, although it's gotten mediocre reviews. I read somewhere it had a far smaller budget than Downton, but I still think it evokes the late 1930s very well.

PP, go to http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/masterpiece/watch-online/ to watch online.

Saw it coming but not quite what I expected.
