I really hate to say this, but -- try the cast iron thing. It's really great for stick-free eggs, or just about stick-free anything.

Keeping it seasoned isn't that hard--just make bacon occasionally. It doesn't make you Daniel Boone or anything.

Is it carcinogenic or something?

Get something with a ceramic/enamel coating and you should be fine.

They've even found teflon in breast milk:

It bugs the crap out of me that they're also putting it on cars! Supposedly so bird poo won't stick as much. Yeah, right.

Just stop using it. And don't use any kind of plastic to heat food up. They say some of them are okay to use but I don't know about that.

And do not use Teflon to cook if you keep bird pets nearby. They can die from the fumes.

avoid teflon. some of the newer nonstick coatings do seem to be safe, but you should get rid of any nonstick pan once there's any scratching or peeling of the nonstick coating. We do use regular stainless steel (All Clad) pans for the vast majority of our cooking though, and it's really not such an issue.

Chantal pans have an enamel glass surface. I have the 8 inch frying pan and have very few problems with food sticking.

I use the regular farberware pots and pans (no coating or anything special). I really like them.

And I'm late to getting this memo. I'm not into the cast iron thing. Can you recommend your cookware (pots, pans, etc) that doesn't have this coating? Thanks.
