They asked for realtor recommendations, not for recommendations on where to live.

She was the listing agent, not the buyer's rep. And it was a year ago. Oh, and most of her sales are 1m or less.

Sylvia Bergstrom at Coldwell Banker. Very nice and down to earth. We were probably her lowest end clients ever (recommendation from a family friend) and she treated us very well.

Hugh Oates at Sotheby's. He's done a lot of work for Congresspeople/Ambassadors and is totally fabulous (helped us sell our way less expensive place as a favor to my boss, who then used him to do a really complicated buy of a 4m place out of bankruptcy). He's totally delightful to work with.

OP, I'd highly recommend your boss and his wife consider buying on Capitol Hill. There are just so many late nights and it's nice to be able to slip home before and/or after.

She's going to be in the Senate for six years -- she won't want to spend a lot of time commuting. (I'm assuming this isn't a House member-elect -- I wouldn't buy until she's reelected at least once).

I'm in McLean and live in the same neighborhood with a Supreme Court justice and a Congressman. Commuting doesn't appear to be a problem for either.....

Does anyone have any recs for a high end realtor? Meaning someone who usually works the upper end of the market, $3m and up? Boss' wife just elected to Congress and they're relocating. He asked for a rec, and I don't think our neighborhood realtor is what he's looking for. I have a couple of ideas, thought I'd ask the fine denizens of DCUM for more.
Thanks.
