for special needs though, I would try to talk directly to the school. Not all services are available in all schools. And there seems to be a big disparity in the specialties of the special needs staff at each school. Perhaps ask in the special needs forum as well?

For the long term, pay attention to the middle and high schools the elementary schools feed to.

The best ES in all of PG County is Bond Mill Elementary School in western Laurel. It's one of the few schools in all of PG County that is competitive with schools in Montgomery or Howard Counties.

I think the elementary schools around College Park are pretty good, and I know some of the elementary school in parts of Laurel are well regarded, too. It goes school by school, though, so you have to research.

Greatschools.org, look up test scores on PG county website. Generally the best schools are in Bowie: Whitehall, Tulip Grove, and Heather Hills. Then there are the special programs and other schools here and there.

Can anyone give me a source to look up or some advice on PG Public Elementary Schools? I am looking for a potential my son will be in Kindergarten next year and has language processing delay. We have the option to move in two months so I need some advice on really good PG elementary schools. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
