I'm so sorry for what you're going through! I know how tough it is - this seems really similar to what I went through. My first beta was a whopping 48 and it continued to barely double. By 7 weeks it was only 7800 and my doctor had similar concerns. I am happy to report that I am now 18 weeks pregnant and all is well! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you, OP! Good luck.

My nurse (beyotch) was pushing me to end the pregnancy around 6 weeks, along with the doctor on call, when the doctor came back, thank God, he told me to go to my OB, that he thought that we'd within a week find the pregnancy on ultrasound, even if it wasn't viable.

We did, in the tube--but the difference between KNOWING it was ectopic and terminating my pregnancy based on an insensitive nurse's assertion that it was ectopic, is huge. My numbers could just as easily have indicated a non-viable uterine pregnancy. I am SO glad I waited for confirmation, and my OB assured me that with such low betas, and up to 7 weeks, even a little beyond, the danger of rupture was low.

I had probably 4-5 ultrasounds, one high-resolution until they found it.

I would keep fighting till they see it. Once your beta is 2000 or so, they should be able to see it. If it doesn't reach 2000, then it is probably not viable--but remember that the meth shot means you are "on the bench" for much longer than a D&C/surgery for ectopic, as it takes time for the HCG to come down and your system to reset. It set me back 2 1/2 months and I'm AMA.

I am so sorry for what you are going through. I hope your HCG numbers jump and I am reading happy news here soon.

Unfortunately, until your numbers reach a certain point (around 1500), it is hard to see anything on ultrasound.

Thanks for all of your support--I go back in tomorrow for another beta and ultrasound, so I think it will all be figured out by tomorrow. I don't feel pregnant at all. I have been lucky enough to be blessed with a 19 month old daughter via IVF--and my numbers with her were super high and there was never a doubt that I was pregnant, so this experience is very different. This has just been such a roller coaster....today is 21 dpt so I know my numbers should be much higher than they are

I agree with 10:20 - why haven't you had an u/s??? I had an u/s to rule out an EP (low beta numbers + endometriosis) at 5 weeks. There was no heartbeat yet (saw that at 6 weeks, 1 day), but the tech could definitely tell that the pregnancy was in the right place.

Rather than stay in beta hell, please ask for an u/s to confirm.

FWIW, my 10 DPO beta was only a 7, at 16 DPO beta was 367. Doctor suspected EP (hence the early u/s). I am 27 weeks today with a very healthy baby.

This truly is beta hell. My first beta started at 7 and ended up at 500+ before we decided to treat with methotrexate. What week are you? For me, we had had 3-4 sonos and hadn't seen anything in the uterus by 8 weeks, so at least I knew there was no way it was a viable pregnancy. But it still sucked to "end" the one pregnancy I'd ever have/had.

Unfortunately, that looks like my beta progression with my ectopic. Not trying to scare you but I want you to be prepared there is a possibility. Please keep us posted.

It's a wait and see situation, I know women with worse numbers that ended up with healthy babies.

My RE is worried that its ectopic...i go back in tomorrow for more blood tests and an ultrasound on Friday. He says he wants this all figured out by Friday bc hes worried about it rupturing. can anyone shed some light--good or bad. Thanks.
