The ones at 10:23 are hilarious. Ballet flats posing as sneakers? Are pumas the cold-weather shoe of choice for the Tory burch-wearing SAHMs? Won't any cute and comfy sneaker do, or must they be pumas? This reminds me of catholic school when all the cool girls suddenly stopped wearing saddle shoes and switched to sebagos.

It looks like I'm too late on this but the puma flats are so comfortable and super cute. They'll look great with jeans. I have the Zandys that a PP linked to and they are amazing.

And look, I love my Asics (I am probably on my 5th or 6th pair of Onitsuka Tigers) but have pretty much retired them because honestly, no one in their mid/late-30s should be wearing the same style of shoes they wore when they were a 25 year old hipster.

OP here -- good thing I live in Fairfax, not Bethesda! Like I said in my original post, I want something comfortable to wear with socks, which is why ballet flats are out. And I don't know if it's just me, but I really do not find the skinny jeans and riding boots look to be comfortable in the least or particularly warm. I would consider that a dressier jeans outfit.

Many thanks to those who responded with specific styles! I have a few on order, along with a pair of Onitsuka Tigers for Asics. Hopefully I find something I like!

I have a few pairs and wear them all the time. I'm also a teacher and they work really well with the high activity level, without looking like I threw in the towel.

I need a pair of cute shoes that are not running shoes or boots to wear with jeans (skinny or bootcut) in the wintertime. Absolutely must be able to wear socks, so I don't think the ballerina flats will work. People keep recommending Pumas -- which style should I be looking at, specifically? If not Pumas, can you recommend another pair of shoes along these lines?
