Pete's A pizza (or however they spell it) in Tenleytown? It seems kid friendly (in that there are tons whenever I'm there), has a couple big family tables and how can you go wrong with pizza and icecream?

California Pizza Kitchen does fun kids' parties. I went to a fun party at Comet Ping Pong too.
Guess if any friends have allergies they should be extra careful. We had a bday party at A&J with dim sum and it was a blast.

I agree that tea would be fun.

Where are you located? In NW, we often go to Cactus Cantina, Cafe Deluxe, Medium Rare and Comet Pizza with our kids.

Why don't you go for tea? It's usually served in the afternoon, but they serve the individual pots, itty bitty sandwiches, the petit-fours, etc. on the teared dishes. It can be kind of a girly-girl experience.

Here are some suggestions on where to go:

The Jefferson Hotel does a tea:

As does the Park Hyatt:

We're looking for a restaurant to celebrate our niece's 6th birthday next weekend. Five adults and 4 kids. The ideal location would be a princess themed restaurant with princess waitresses serving pink, glittery pizzas. Knowing such a place doesn't exist in the greater DC area -- I turn to DCUM for help. Any recommendations for a fairly casual place that serves decent enough food for the adults to enjoy, where a 6 year old can also have a fun evening?
