A great mix of greens with a pomegranate vinagrette (very easy to make) and pomegranate seed garnish. Simple and festive.

We do a pomegranate seed and strawberry salad with greens. Only time of the year we do it and it is amazing!

Romaine with diced pimentos, marinated artichoke hearts, and red onion. Toss with oil (from artichokes) and red wine vinegar. Add fresh shaved Parmesan. My family's favorite and I always bring for Thanksgiving.

Endive, arugula, green pear and pomegranate seeds with shaved Parmesan. Top with candied pecans or walnuts if no one is allergic. Serve with Dijon white wine vinaigrette with tarragon. I served this ( minus nuts) for Thanksgiving. The pomegranate makes it look very festive. Yum!

This storm has me obsessed with food! I've been baking for the past day, and now I'm starting to think about Christmas menus! Anyway, I'm planning to make a shrimp and orzo dish as the main course (here's the recipe, if you're interested: http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Orzo-with-Shrimp-Feta-Cheese-and-White-Wine-107904). I'll do garlic bread, and an assortment of appetizers, but I'd also like to make a nice salad. I love fun salads (my favorite is a walnut, blue cheese, and pear), but I'm thinking I should probably stick with a standard green salad, to go with the main dish. Any recommendations?

I seriously need to stop thinking about food!
