I'm waiting to upgrade to iPad 4 - I luv, luv, luv the iPad and so does my kid who get the ipad 2 and we'll donate the first generation which he currently uses. I like the fact that the mini is smaller than iPad but bigger than iphone.

I can't decide - the mini would be easier for reading on the metro, carrying in my purse, and plane travel, but ipad would be better for work and around the house.

I was seriously going to get one until I found out it had no retina display. For these old eyes, it's a must. Perhaps the next generation. I have an iPad 3 and dont plan to upgrade to the 4.

Considering that you can get a refurbished iPad 3rd Gen for about $50 more than the Mini, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. If price is the primary consideration, the Kindle and Nexus options are much better. If it has to be an Apple product, then the iPad is a much better deal at the slightly higher price. The only reason I can see to get the Mini is if you specifically want a smaller, less-powerful iPad and don't mind paying more money for less.

Nope. If I were to get an iPad, I'd get the original. The mini has the same number of pixels as the original iPad with a higher pixel density, so it will simply shrink down any app -- in other words, how's your eyesight, at least until developers re-vamp the apps? I just don't see the point. If I wanted to read books on it, I'd get the Kindle Fire.

Nope. It's overpriced, imho. I'd be willing to buy it at $200-$250. Apple's releasing ipads so quickly that I'm not even sure I want to bother with the newest one. There'll be another upgrade in 6 months.

No. They are too expensive. By the time you fork over the $ for the ipad mini, you might as well just buy an ipad. If it was in the price range of the kindle, I would consider buying one.

I think I'm going Kindle Fire or Google Nexus, but I'm also not an Apple fanatic. I HAVE an iPhone, but I don't really use it as an iPod or get all into the apps. I use it for Facebook and email accounts and maps when I'm out and about - seriously, that's all.

I'm tempted to get it because of the price point. I still wish it was in the $200 range, though.
