I like Catholic Answers as well. Nice of the PP to list all of these but OP should be forewarned that the bloggers seem pretty conservative. One refers to social justice Catholics in quotations- ouch.

Well, that's because Catholics who tend to identify as caring primarily about "social justice" either gloss over, ignore, or are outright hostile to the deepest teachings of the Church. It is unfortunate that this splintering occurs, because the reality is that if one follows the dogma but does not care about the poor, they are not following the Church either. However, in my experience, many faithful, conservative, Catholics - although they don't talk about it much - do everything they can to help those in need. They just don't discuss it very much, which in my perspective is still a problem! Catholics need to be faithful, AND they need to gather up the forces to address social ills, instead of simply working on a small scale in their own lives.

Another fan of Elizabeth Foss. She sometimes collaborates with Danielle Bean whom you can goggle. Somehow Danielle does not click with me as much, but I think she is very popular with many.

I also like http://remnantofremnant.blogspot.com/ - for those who don't know, Eastern Rite Catholic priests marry and this blog is by the wife of an Eastern Rite priest (they are part of the Roman Catholic Church).

OP if you find something..please post..I am also interested. Congrats on your new journey--I have been a lifelong catholic and have loved the experience. FYI..not all catholics are fire and brimstone.

OP here. I would never start forums with questions related to Catholicism on DCUM after much of what I have read. I am looking for ways of introducing traditions in our home and what other families may do. I like to hear others' ideas because I did not grow up with any structured religious activities. I am not Catholic, but I am currently in RCIA to become one. We are raising our children Catholic.

For example, I would actually like to discuss with other moms why or why not they incorporate things like Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny into their lives (and other topics that just do not seem like a goof idea to post on DCUM if i want real reaponses). Please note that I am NOT inviting that discussion into this thread.

I do like the blog "Catholic Icing" that a PP recommended. I found that a few months ago. I have asked a few moms in my parish, but they all were raised Catholic (so they know A LOT more than me), and/or are not online often (ha, because they all have five kids) -- so they did not have any recs.

I'm a big fan of the "Catholic Answers" forum. http://forums.catholic.com/

They have a very active section on Catholic living, which I loved to read when my oldest DD was a baby. Since then I haven't had as much time for forums.... I will say that Catholic Answers can trend toward heavy/serious. So, if you're looking for a Catholic DCUM type of place (light, sassy, hip, whining, etc.), it probably won't be the right place.
