I saw a cute halloween menu once that featured freaky opposite snacks. Like pound cake cut into french fry shapes with jelly for "ketchup." And cookies and icing stacked to be "burgers."

I made soft pretzel fingers with almond sliver fingernails one year. I also made meringue bones. Those went over really well. The meringue is really easy to make. It just takes some piping.
The kids didn't eat the realistic meatloaf head I made with onions for teeth and olives for eyes but they had a lot of fun screaming over him and the adults enjoyed him quite a bit.

Saw some cute Halloween cookies at Trader Joe's. Cider donuts are great this time of year.

thanks for the plain donut idea -- great! (The party is this weekend, not on Halloween, so I think I can serve some cookies and whatnot.)

agree re: cake donut suggestion - perfect with apple cider and remember the kiddos are going to get a boatload of candy later that night.

Plain cake doughnuts.
Not everything has to be decorated. They're just yummy fall goodness and go well with apple cider.

Sounds great.
I would just buy chocolate chip cookies.

I'm throwing together a last-minute thing for my kids and some friends for Halloween and want some cute food and snacks. But anything that involves piping icing or whatever is going to be too fussy for me to manage.
So far I have:
deviled egg "eyeballs" -- that's very easy
chicken tender zombie fingers -- also fairly easy.
pigs in blanket hot dog mummies -- pretty easy.
spaghetti and pasta sauce -- just normal
veggie platter and dip -- don't want to fuss with that too much
