if you're willing to pay more and deal with loose leaf, the quality is so amazing at stores like teavana and they often have samples, you can buy tea already brewed by the cup or smell what they have in stock.
my favorite grocery store tea is celestial seasonings' sleepytime tea. it's a blend of chamomile and herbs.

Adagio has some great flavors if you don't mind brewing loose teas:

I love the Yogi line of teas. I think their spiced teas are especially good. I do keep several of their herbal varieties on hand for illnesses or just relaxing in the evening. They're very inexpensive through Vitacost, however, I've also purchased them at Whole Foods, MOMs, and Roots.

Also, unless I'm wanting something plain like mint or chamomile, my favorite Celestial Seasonings teas are Red Zinger or Berry Zinger.

I've been enjoying Tazo's "Calm" tea (available in our grocery store).

I love hot herbal tea. What are your favorite brands/flavors? I normally get whatever Celestial Seasons flavors look good to me when I am in the store. But I am often disappointed in them. Then my daughter will find a new flavor at a hotel, and I will buy more online (the latest brand was Bigelow). She also loves Tazo tea from Starbucks, but she can't remember what flavor it was (does Starbucks sell more than one type of Tazo tea?). Looking for suggestions of great herbal teas. Thanks!
