Arnold Schwarzenegger did it as governor of California. I don't believe any Congressman or President has refused the salary. And Romney is very unlikely to be the first to do something like this.

Are wealthy politicians allowed to forgo a salary? Could Romney just say "I don't want a paycheck for the next 4 years"?

Would that make him a more appealing candidate?
