In someone's home: I would wear it and even tell you what a great idea it is. Then I'll come home and tell a friend the next day about this totally weird birthday party that I attended, where, you will never believe!, we were given name tags to wear.

Sure! Why not. Fine idea! If someone has a "bug" in their arse and cares not to wear one, then just ignore them!

We've done them when it's been a big party. Even when kids go to the same preschool, parents don't know each other per se. (If someone doesn't want to wear one--no big deal.)

If you feel weird about asking people to wear them, you might just have plastic cups and ask them to label their cup, so drinks don't get mixed up.

This is the only place I've seen nametags - it also seems to help the staff figure out which kids go with which party when there are a few going on at the same time. Otherwise I would think it was weird, but then I hate nametags in general.

At your house or at a birthday party place? I can see it at a birthday party place to help the leader of the activity call the kids by the right names, but at your house it's just odd.

I would never pass them out, and if I were given one I wouldn't wear it.

Has anyone ever gone to a birthday party where you've been given a name tag to wear? Did you find it weird? I've never been good with names and was thinking of doing this at my son's birthday party. I can never remember the names of all of the parents.
