Love Zen, and agree about Rufus Sewell. What a smokin hottie.

I feel like I need to take a prozac after I watch Wallander, and I just started telling DH to watch it without me.

Also agree about Wire in the Blood and BBC Prime Suspect, and Inspector Linley. And Inspector Lewis, but again, more for the hottie young guy on there. (Not as hot as Aurelio Zen though, but who is, really...)

I'm also getting into the Inspector Lewis series and Zen. Lion, Zen. Mmmmm. I wish they would bring back more of those episodes.

Yeah, baby! Rufus Sewell is incredibly hot in the role of Zen. Yum.

* Not Lion, Zen. Meant to say: Mmm, Zen.

Love Wallender; KB; Masterpiece Mystery

It's true. I'll watch vintage Prime Suspect over almost anything else. The writers weren't afraid to handle a sensational case in a relatively discreet way. And god, but Helen Mirren is good in it.

Emma is not overrated as a woman.

Violent and depressing, all of them. I don't like KB, but I thought he did a good job. I am a Masterpiece Theater addict, so I watch everything they put on. Can't wait for Downton Abbey to start up after Christmas.

Watching Prime Suspect and I, Claudius tonight.

Emma's very over-rated as an actress and especially as a writer. He shouldn't have cheated, but since she's been snuggling next to Greg Wise every night for quite a while. I'd say she's a lucky duck.

I tried to watch Wallender but couldn't get into it. But if you like those kinds of mysteries, you could try Robson Green's Wire in the Blood series. (The longer the series went the more clunky it became.)

My favorite is Inspector Lynley. Love that series.

Agree with PP about Emma Thompson. It reminds me of that scene in "Love Actually," when Emma's character realizes her husband is cheating on her. The best emotional reaction ever.

With that said I love "Wallender" and watch it for the dark, brooding landscape and Wallender, himself.

I love it, and him in the role. Sweden looks like a depressing country though. I think I read that it has the highest suicide rate.

It's too graphic for me. I really don't like violence, even faked.

I think Wallander lives in the most depressing place in the world. I was surprised to learn that series provided a tourism boost to the city.

Love Kenneth Branagh anyway, and in this role he is mysterious and I find him lovable.
I like the intrigue and mystery, without gore and with just the right amount of suspense.
I think the regular scenes of him driving his Volvo around the countryside must be an metaphor for his lost soul.

If you watch it, what do you think?
