We don't eat gelatin in our household. I will actually answer your question.
Visit Pangea in Rockville or Sticky Fingers in Columbia Heights.
The best brand is Dandies: http://www.veganstore.com/product/647/vegan-marshmallows-and-other-sweets
We have had much success around the campfire with these.
Have fun!

Anonymous wrote:12:18 here, yes that recipe would probably work! Just not sure how it would translate to being heated over a flame but it's worth a try.

We are paricipating in an extended family trip out west this summer and a lot of the evening activities seem to revolve around campfires. My kids do not eat gelatin or fish (ingrediants in regular and kosher marshmallows). The one brand of vegetarian marshmallow I found at whole foods disintegrated when heated. Anyone have any alternative brand that might stand up to toasting.
Not a huge deal, I know, but if there is a workable product, I'd love to bring it!
