No they are not dated. That is preposterous.

Go to the Nordstrom website and click into Jeans. Click into Best Sellers and of the top 4 only ONE is skinny.

I'm petite but curvy, and I really like Ann Taylor LOFT jeans - they have skinny styles that are more curvy through the hips and thighs, those do the trick for me.

I know it's a heated debate on here, but I'm on the side that bootcut are dated. Go try on a pair and look in the mirror and see if you look current. You don't.

I just bought Luckys as I'm trying to get to pre-preg weight and wanted to look good while still chubs. I can't remember now if I got Sofia Straight or Sweet and Straight, but try both on. And the Super Stretch fabric is great.

Not sure about AG, but the definitely have Joe's at Nordstrom. I also like Citizens jeans.

This is OP. I am willing to spend more on jeans than Gap prices - I just have those because they fit and looked good. For those suggesting the designer jeans, I have tried them in the past, and found the thighs to be too skinny for me. But a pp is suggesting AG and Joe's? These I can try on at Nordstrom? Eddie Bauer curvy straights in dark wash. I love them and am about to order a second pair. They are made with some new stretch fabric that doesn't get baggy. They fit really well and the straight leg is pretty narrow without being skinny jeans. No branding on them, just plain pockets.

14:56 makes a good point - it could just be the brand you're wearing. I wear Lucky jeans which are by no means designer, but still higher quality than gap. I've also heard great things about AG and Joe's jeans for curvy figures, but haven't tried either b/c I look great in the jeans I wear.

You know, I have a pretty fashionable group of friends (mid-20s to mid-30s), and even among them, only the ones who can get away with skinny jeans wear them, the rest continue to wear boot cut. I have the same curvy figure as you, and I continue to wear my bootcuts because that's what I look best in. Why should I dress for fashion that doesn't look good on me?.

OP I love skinny jeans, BUT I look good in them for my body type. I can completely understand why some people do not like them.

I am very petite and 5'1 so finding good fitting jeans is impossible and thats why I actually like skinny jeans.

You said you buy GAP jeans but I think GAp has extremely unflattering jeans. Trust me I have tried and tried to like their jeans bc they are so reasonably priced BUT they do not look great. I am actually giving it one last try and ordered a Petite "Sexy Boot" cut style.

However, have you thought about investing more money into your jeans like designer brands? I know they are alot but if you have one great pair that you love and make you feel great you should invest in them. I find my deisgner Citizen for Humanity or AG brand jeans hug me in all the right places and just look great!

Go try a few pairs on in Nordstrom and see if you find something you like. Then google them online to see if you can get a deal at ZAppos or Piperlime. Goodluck!

I am curvy - and by curvy I mean I carry all my weight in my thighs and butt. I am by no means fat, and don't feel the need to lose weight. If I can even find a pair of skinny jeans to fit me (most are too skinny in the legs and butt), I don't like the way they look. However, I am starting to feel very dated in my bootcuts. Please suggest some brands/cuts for me to try. My current jeans are Gap Long and Lean and I think a pair of curvy bootcut from somewhere. I wear size 8.
