Very ugly house. No curb appeal. And the deck is wedged between the house and the garage? Who wants to use that? Agree that the kitchen, bathrooms, are cheap. Seems way overpriced.

This must be the same builder that tried to flip a house on Knowles in Kensington Heights earlier this year. The ugly siding and white trim with small front accent window - exact same design. The Knowles house sat through multiple price drops and near as I can tell, was pulled off the market and now just sits vacant. So I'm not too sure about this builder's business model.

That house is pretty awful for the price. Front of house is terrible and will affect resale. Finishes are average and not what someone paying $1.4 would expect. Neighborhood is nice but that is a really, really, busy part of the street. If your kid or dog wanders into the street, they are in trouble!

Builder didn't put anything near $1million into it so $1.4 is ridiculous

The inside is pretty huge-- kitchens, walk-in closets, big family room-- these things drive the price up. Not my cup of tea but I can see other people liking the space.

To wit: a 1950s 3 bedroom sold in parkwood for $720k. This new house is essentially twice the size and twice the price (plus it's brand new...ugly, but new). It will definitely sell for over one million easily.

I agree that the price seems a bit high, but it is a very big house. Compare it to the shacks in parkwood which seem expensive to me and then the price for the big house doesn't seem as ridiculous. And remember: big catholic families need big homes.

The price is ridiculous. I get it that the neighborhood is popular among people who go to some church but the house is just not that great--incredibly bland and not that big and lot stinks. Of course, that is the asking price and it has only been on the market for a short time. It may not sell for that or anywhere close to that.

Love the sliders in the living room.

Here's the thing about Kensington (and primarily Chevy chase view): kids that grew up there and went to hr are eager to live in that area. They do not want to live in Chevy chase or Bethesda or Potomac...they want to live in K-town and send their kids to hr and spend summers at cedar rook. It is a very tight knit community with built in buyers who were raised there.

I grew up there in a modest lovely home and now the McMansions are being built after the elderly residents move, pass away, etc.

Check out the monstrosity on Glenrose that is trying to be sold for 1.8 million. Hideous and its under the Extraordinary properties for Long and Foster...laughable.

That's right near holy redeemer. Someone who plans to send their kids to hr will buy it. That neighborhood (actually, the immediate adjacent hood) is highly desirable for hr folks.
