Depends on the practice. I have been to 2 of them. From my experience- I would say that at GW the RE's are "more alike" then they are at CFA (protocol- Etc.) And at CFA you are more likely to have YOUR doctor perform your procedures. Again- This is just MY experience. FWIW: I like BOTH practices (but prefer CFA for me.)

Im switchign between two REs in the same practice and they seem to have a very different approach (suggested two different protocols, different things leading up to those protocols, etc.)

I am looking for a new RE. I have no "known" issues and my husband has the male factor. We didn't have success at Dominion with one failed IVF and one failed FET so I'm wondering if there are better REs out there that anyone can recommend.

I considering switching to another RE in the same practice, and talked to my doctor about it. He said, well, you're basically getting the same thing - I guess he meant that doctors in the same practice tend to have the same point of view on these issues.

I don't subscribe to that, really - a friend of mine switched doctors and found it very different, and didn't find it awkward at all. Just thought that doctor's point of view was interesting.

By the way, my final decision was to switch to another local practice. I'm glad I did - I at least feel more comfortable knowing I did all I could to learn what was wrong before I'm through with my journey.

Well it depends on how your practice runs. If they have a group approach to things, then odds are you would run into your old RE again, whether it be with monitoring, egg retrieval and/or egg transfer. That is assuming you are doing IVF. If your group doesn't really do the group approach, then I think it would be ok. But again, if you are doing IVF, odds are you may run into your old RE again in that he may be on call or something. And doctors cannot be there every single day so if your procedure falls on say a weekend when your new RE is not on call, again, you may run into the old one. So, to get to the point, your old RE may still "treat" you even though you have switched REs. Hope this helps.
