substantial peep toe shoes with opaque tights are a cute look. Please no sheer hose though, or anything with more toe showing than peep toe.

Agreed - Hose with open toed shoes have been in the magazines for atleast a few years now.

I used to stick to the rules of no hose with open toed shoes, and no white pants after Labor Day, but, fashion rules have changed, and finally after a couples years of fighting it, I’ve decided to follow the trend. They have cute suede open toe boots for the Winter, and there’s no way I can wear them without hose, so I will be wearing both. And, a lot of the Fall lines have white jeans. I like that because it gives me something different to wear (dressed up or down) without trying to look trendy.

In DC, because of the weather, you can wear open-toed shoes anytime from March until November.

For indoor galas/weddings, sandals and open-toed are ok year round.

But, if it's cold, closed-toed, hands down.

And NO HOSE. Nothing is worse than webbed feet.

I dont wear hose bc I am not over 60.

I do wear open toe shoes all year long bc my feet get very hot. I rarely wear them to the office though, mostly just sandals on the weekend - even in 30 degree weather.

Thank you for posting this. I have noticed this in my office and I am the only one who seems surprised by it. I always thought they were for warm weather months too.

Op here. I'm wearing open toe ballet flats today but it is unseasonably warm. It just seemed odd that I was seeing all sorts of peep toe pumps in professional styles. I mean sure, if it's a platform it will keep your toes from getting wet if it's raining, but I'm not huge in to platforms unless it's a wedge.

No. It's true you shouldn't. But when it is crazily warm in October--like it is today--I'll run around in nice black flip flops to do errands. I think it's fine. Would never wear them to go to any kind of "event" this time of year though. DC is very casual to gauche about most styles--you'll never beat us out of our schlumpy outré fashion sense, no matter how you scold us. We are happily not stressed about that too much--frees up our time to obsess about important things like keeping our electric cars charged and shaking our fists at Suburbans.
