BlackSalt is my favorite, but I also second the recommendation for The Fishery in Chevy Chase DC. Good fish, nice people.

It's not Bethesda, SS, or Chevy Chase, but we live in Bethesda and whenever we are in the city (a lot), we go down to the SW waterfront fishmarkets. Everything is fresh (or they tell you if it's frozen), they tell you where it's from, and the prices are very good.

A&H - next to Bethesda Crab House.
Black Salt - pricey but very fresh.

Same here. Better quaility than Whole Foods and never frozen like Whole Foods. Good selection. If youc all ahead, they will peel your shrimp for you. He also has really good quality vegetables.

Is this the Chevy Chase Seafood Market? Sounds awesome, will definitely check it out.

It is called The Fishery.

Broad Branch market. Apparently the place that stocks Sushi Ko stops there next on every trip.

Try one of the asian markets... H Mart, Grand Mart, Great Wall, Kam Sam.

They usually have tanks of live fish, as well as other fresh and frozen ones.

I am looking for any suggestions of places to purchase fresh fish. I usually go to SS Whole Foods (aka Whole Paycheck....), but it is pretty expensive. Hoping to find an alternative if one exists. I have had some luck with Camerons on 16th street, but they aren't always super helpful.

Thanks,
