Take the dress with you to Nordstroms or David's Bridal (I think?) and try it on with fake boobs and see if it helps. I think you're going to have to get it altered quickly, though, if it's that big -- Where are you at and maybe people will have suggestions?

a strapless dress and not fit properly on top? I was a bride with the same problem. I was practically an A cup b the time my wedding rolled around since I was anxious and had lost weight. that doesn't excuse the tailor who put in D-CUPS for the dress. I know I said "B CUP" when we talked and my god does she have eyes? Anyway, they did some minor adjustments to the dress and I had to wear a serious bustier and padded strapless bra underneath. It was insane I could barely breathe.

so, I recommend getting professional help. don't try to fix this with pins and brooches. you could end up making it worse. the drycleaners are a good idea..

Honestly, it is a strapless dress. This is not something with which you can fake the fit. You agreed to be a bridesmaid and you owe to your friend to look somewhat put together.

I agree, I think it is going to be hard to fake this one. How are you going to hold up the dress?

If it is standing out three inches from your chest, falsies are not going to do it. Do you have a friend that can sew? If this were me, I would be making an emergency trip to my mother's house so she could help alter it quickly. If you do not know anyone that can help, you need to get to a drycleaners and beg.

You could try Macy's/Nordstroms bra department. They have fakes boobs to go in dresses. If not, try to find a bra shop near you that would carry such items.

Sure, I know - I'm really just venting. I'm happy to do it - she's one of my best friends. And I don't really care care. I just haven't seen all that many groups of 30+ bridesmaids who all look good in the same strapless, knee-length fluffy dress.

It really is the bride's perogative. If you didn't want to do it, you should have said you can't.

A dry cleaner could do some fast alterations for you. If you don't want to spend the money, I would pin pin pin and get pads. Is it the kind of top that you can put a decorative pin in the center to bunch the fabric?

This is definitely due to my procrastination, but also, I'll admit due to me not wanting to spend any more money on alterations after spending $200 on the dress, $50 on undergarments, $50 on an updo, and $50 on shoes. Picked up my bridesmaid dress last week for a wedding that is tomorrow and it's huge on top. I probably should have ordered a size down anyway, but even so, it appears that the dress is just cut for someone with boobs, which I unfortunately don't have. Even with a push-up bra on, the boning makes it stand out from my chest three inches. And it's an awful color on me. And it's stapless and a weird length. It just looks so terrible.

Two things - 1) tips for pining it or fixing it myself somehow? and 2) how can I get over that I'm going to feel really unattractive for an entire evening? I guess I'm also just complaining. Women over 30 - please don't pick out matching dresses for your bridesmaids. Please?
